2nd / 3rd January 2017 – Heading to the Keys

The only reason I wanted to go to the keys was because of the 7 mile bridge (which I’ve since discovered isn’t even 7 miles), but when in Florida ….

The drive took around 6 hours, but I did make a pit stop at Ocean View for lunch and to let the puppies stretch their legs.

Well it lived up to its name!

Arrived at around 4.30pm, and walked up Duval Street to catch the sun set.

It was incredibly busy for a Monday afternoon but the sun set was beautiful.

Walking down Duval street, I stopped at Sloppy Joes, for dinner and some live music (I had a steak sandwich, I’m a poor tourist but I’m not a fan of sloppy joes).

The band was fun, doing covers glam rock bands from the late 80’s / 90’s.

The next day, the hangover cure was to head down to the southern most point (again we have been lied to, but hey ho!).

The queue, again, was terrible, so I just skipped to the front and got as close as I could for a quick selfie.

Lunch was had at Viva, beer & Key Lime pie!

All in all I enjoyed Key West, but it is incredibly busy and painfully expensive.
